Giza Plains

Nomad Village

Cartographers’ Guild/Nutsy: I’m just a traveling moogle, trying to scrape by. I should be here while the Dry holds, kupo. But the monsters during the Rains are too scary! The Dry should last a while longer, but take care during the Rains, kupo. Those big lightning balls don’t mess around. Would you like to buy a map, kupo?

So long, kupo!
Nomad Youth/Tott: Hey there. We don’t see many travelers through here. If there’s somethin’ you’re lookin’ for, you should talk to our elder. She’s over by the tent.

Nomad/Arjie: Well, hello! The wary traveler never passes the chance to restock his supplies. [shop menu] The children still work, even in this heat. I guess I should try to follow their example.

Nomad Youth/Camina: I’m in charge of seeing all the herbs and roots we gather in the plain are properly dried and stored. We use charms made from the herbs to keep the monsters away while we’re out. Used a whole lot during the Rains, so we need t’ pick more!

Nomad Youth/Roaklo: Sorry, but could you come back later? Gotta finish work, or I can’t play!

Nomad/Nanau: You’ve come from the city? Our village may be small, but you are welcome here. Our village moves with the seasons. When the Rains come, Giza fills with water, so we cannot stay.

Nomad/Masyua: Have you come to see the dark crystals? Not everyone takes well to the heat of the Giza Plains. We don’t have much to offer, but you’re welcome to rest here, if you like. These dark crystals absorb the light of the sun, until they shine with a brilliant light. People are always surprised just how bright they shine.

Nomad Youth/Jinn: Most of us out here work at makin’ sunstones or raisin’ cockatrices. We won’t get much work done once the Rains come. Gotta make the best of the Dry now!

Nomad/Lesina: The men are off on their business, while we women mind the village. Even the children do their part. They make their mistakes, of course, but they learn from them!

Nomad Youth/Terra: I heard wild cockatrices can roll real fast. But these ones don’t roll around at all… You think they’re just lazy?

Nomad/Dania: Don’t worry, they won’t bite! These cockatrices are as tame as can be. Aren’t they just the fluffiest, cutest things you’ve ever seen?

Cockatrice (little one): (It stares at you with beady eyes…)

Cockatrice (little one): (It looks like it wants to tell you something. Then again, maybe not.)

Cockatrice (medium one): (It doesn’t shy at your approach. It seems tame.)

Cockatrice (medium one): (It looks like it has an itch on its back.)

Cockatrice (medium one): (It looks like it wants to be left alone.)

Cockatrice (big ‘un): (It looks hungry.)

Nomad Elder/Elder Brunoa: It can get quite hot here in Giza, but it’s not all that bad if you can find a nice spot in the shade. Take care before heading out to the plains. Our children don’t leave without making the proper preparations. Neither should you.

Elder Brunoa (x2): Don’t go out to the plains unprepared. Speak with Arjie before you go if there’s anything you need.
