Back Once Again

Hello, all, I am back for my periodic fixation on updating the FFXII script!

Last time, I posted that I would be completing the script and sharing it from a Google Docs folder. I kept the old script, which has been posted on the blog itself, up for the foreseeable future. (Which of course turned out to be until I came back to the blog right about now-ish.)

Now, I'm thinking I'd like to have both available in complete form. (I was trying to save myself some work, but who am I kidding, I don't really mind it, this is a fun project for me, and even if it takes me years more, I'll keep coming back to this.) I know some people might be gunshy about opening a random Google Doc, even if I like the look of it a little better.

I'd also kind of like at some point to make a text-to-voice friendly version of the script, so visually impaired individuals can enjoy Final Fantasy XII, but that may be down the line.

In any case, I think my first order of business is getting that last chapter (or two?) of the script up in the Google folder. Then, I'll finish posting it to the blog.

Chapter 10 Up

Chapter 10, covering Giruvegan and all dialogue before it, is now up.

With this, I'm close to completing the transcript! It looks like there will be two more chapters. (Twelve chapters for FFXII, how fitting!) Then I will revisit the Clan Primer and Side Quests and complete and edit those, and the project will really be done!

Chapter 9: Draklor Laboratory

Chapter 9 is up! It basically covers all of Archadia and the first confrontation with Dr. Cid in Draklor Laboratory. (The NPC dialogue on Archades is a doozy with all that chops nonsense.)

I've got it in my head that I'm going to push to complete the actual story script, and then come back to the side quests and clan primer, which, I know, are woefully incomplete.

Chapter 8: Journey to the Imperial City Up

The latest chapter has been added to the FFXII Complete Script folder and directory! It covers immediately after Judge Bergan at Mt. Bur-Omisace all the way through Sochen Cave Palace.

Hello all!

As I said in my last post two years ago, life happened. As we all know life is happening again (so much). However, in my case, I have had some time to look over my FFXII script work. (Upsides of quarantine!) I am thinking of revamping it again (yes, again, and when I didn't even finish my last revamp, just roll with me). I will likely just provide links in posts on the site to the original Google docs I have the scripts in. These will still be formatted almost exactly the same as outlined in the Intro to the Script.

Planning on getting this all up and moving in the next few days either way. (No job at the moment so - yay??)

Edit:

I did indeed rearrange the script into a shared Google folder (after being possessed by the spirit of productivity all night). Easier for me to manage and work with, and probably nicer for you to look at too! The Final Fantasy XII page has been updated to reflect this. You can find status updates on the progress of the script there too.

It's me! I'm still here working on it. Or I was. Then life happened and now I'm resuming the work. It's going to be even more gradual, since life is still happening, but I'll revise a few posts at a time.

Currently, chapters one and two have been revised and I've started on three.

Hello readers! Progress has been very slowww, but I've finished revising Chapter 1. I'm not entirely satisfied with it (I don't remember Blogger being this difficult to work with as far as formatting posts the way I want them???), but in favor of finishing revision and getting new chapters of the script I've been transcribing posted, I'll leave it be for now.
