North End & Yamoora's Gambits

North End
Rabanastran (woman in red, pink, and blue): Thanks to the work I found in the palace, I can afford to feed my younger brothers, and I even have a few gil left over for myself!
Rabanastran (light blue seeq pacing west northwest): Went off to Giza Plains looking for work, but It turns out it was the Rains. Went all that way and didn’t see a soul.
Rabanastran (guy in green and brown shorts): The other day I saw a bright flash in the sky off to the west, and a few hours later some wounded Imperials were brought into town. I wonder what happened out there…
Traveler: Apparently Vayne’s been summoned back to Archades. I’m sure it will only be temporary, though. If not, what reason have I to remain in Rabanastre? Oh, I do hope he comes back soon.
Imperial: I’m on watch. If you have no business here, kindly leave me be. I’ve enough on my mind with Lord Vayne breathing down our necks…
Rabanastran (light blue seeq pacing north northeast): I keep well away from trouble – haven’t the stomach for it. If that makes me a coward, so be it!
Dispirited Woman: Turns out those rumors about the kingslayer being in Rabanastre were no more than that. A friend visiting Bhujerba told me she saw a kid running around saying he was Basch. Needless to say, he wasn’t.
Rabanastran (dark brown bangaa in black vest): The city’s prospects have taken a real turn for the better since Vayne became consul. I really underestimated that man.
Riby: I had no idea Penelo had been kidnapped… And to think, you were off rescuing her! I knew we could always count on you, Vaan!
Rabanastran (man in turban and dark pants): I know that look. Reks used to have that same determined fire in his eyes. Whatever you may be thinking, don’t do anything stupid, okay, Vaan? You owe it to your brother.
Rabanastran (woman in blue, yellow, and pink on bridge): Have you noticed the bangaa standing guard in front of the building just to the west of the bridge? I wonder what’s inside…
Rabanastran (woman in green, pink, and brown on bridge): I used to think all the guards were bad, but some of them actually care about the people they’re protecting.
Helpful Man: Such a grand city… Why, even the locals must need a map to find their way! You surely know your way around by now, though!
Yamoora’s Gambits
Greenhorn: When it really counts, nothing can replace giving each and every command without using gambits. Of course, it’s nice to not have to worry about giving orders for every little thing. I suppose it really just depends on the situation…
Adept Adventurer: Walking the Way of the Gambit is like climbing a mountain whose peak you cannot see. You climb and climb, but still the summit eludes you. Yet never have I thought to turn back. I seek the ultimate combination of gambits, one capable of accommodating any scenario. Such a thing might not exist, but I will not rest until I have found it.
Yamoora: Yamoora, at your service. Please, take all the time you like. [shop menu]

Yamoora's Gambits & North End

Yamoora’s Gambits
Greenhorn: I’ve managed to pick up quite a lot – I’m even making my own gambit combinations now. Oh, I see I’m not alone. Guess I better keep at it… Don’t want to be one-upped!
Adept Adventurer: The Way of the Gambit is long and steep. Any novice may combine gambits, but using them to give form to your every thought is truly an art. Yet the tightest grasp can hold only dust. The most intricate combinations stand upon simple foundations… gambits are like that.
Yamoora (mistakenly says Panamis due to glitch): You’re one of Migelo’s little friends, aren’t you? Well, I’m glad he’s all right. Some nasty business the night of the fete. There was no serious damage, at least. Good thing the Consul was ready for it. But I’m forgetting… you’re here to shop, aren’t you. [shop menu]
North End
Rabanastran (woman in green, pink, and brown on bridge): They’ve sent the worst of the guards back to Archadia. Removed for running afoul of the Consul… I shudder to think what happens to them.
Rabanastran (woman in blue, yellow, and white): Seems Vayne’s ordered the guards to speak to us more proper, like. Trouble is, some of the guards aren’t too bright, and it just comes out funny.
Rabanastran (man in white turban and brown pants): I heard the Imperials had caught you for something or other. Glad you gave ‘em the slip. I gotta tell ya, I’m surprised you made it out.
Riby: Vaan, is that you? I’m surprised to see you here. All I’ve heard out of Penelo lately is “Vaan’s GONE!” She’s been miserable. You should really go see her.
Rabanastran (tan bangaa): The consul may change, but how long will it be before we see change on the streets? Though I’ll admit, the guards seem more mannerly now.
Dispirited Woman: I’ve heard the kingslayer is back in Rabanastre. If it’s true, I have choice word or two for him… Though I wonder if I’d even recognize him.
Rabanastran (light blue seeq): Things have finally settled down ‘round here. They’ve even reopened the aerodrome! Not that I’ll be flyin’ anywhere…
Imperial: Lord Vayne is very particular about the rules he sets out. He’s ordered us to treat you commoners proper, like. Of course I would, orders or no!
Traveler: Life is easier in Archades, no question. But Lord Vayne is here in Rabanastre… Should I stay? Should I go? What to do!?
Rabanastran (man in brown and green shorts): The Consul’s been quite busy with his civic projects, you know. Perhaps Lowtown’s fortunes are on the up?
Rabanastran (light blue seeq): Did you know there’s a mine right in the middle of Bhujerba? Hard work, mining, but the pay’s tempting, so it is. Bhujerba’s run by one Marquis Ondore. Supposed to be a right generous fellow, so maybe the money’s as good as they say.
Rabanastran (woman in red, pink, and blue): So, the night of the fete, I tried to sneak into the palace to steal a word or two with Lord Vayne. But the guards mistook me for a thief! It was all straightened out quickly enough, but I was furious. Couldn’t have happened at a worse time.

North End & Yamoora's Gambits

North End

Rabanastran (woman in blue, red, and pink near bazaar entrance): If I could find a way to curry favor with Lord Vayne, I’d need never worry about money again.

Rabanastran (light blue seeq): They’ll be starting that fete in the palace soon. Ah, the food they’ll have… What I wouldn’t give for just a taste!

Rabanastran (man in hat and brown and green shorts): I can finally go home to Lowtown now! Maybe I’ll pay Old Dalan a visit. He’s always got a tall tale or two to tell.

Traveler: Under Vayne’s rule, Rabanastre will flourish as never before. I’m sure of it! I may even consider moving here myself!

Imperial: The ceremony’s over. You’re free to move about Lowtown and pass through the city gates.

Rabanastran (blue seeq): So the ceremony ended without incident, eh? Good! I don’t care much for the Empire, but I care even less for trouble.

Dispirited Woman: Vayne invaded Nalbina… Basch wouldn’t accept surrender and killed the King… Enemies of Dalmasca both, in my book.

Rabanastran (black bangaa): The Empire wouldn’t send someone like Vayne just anywhere. No, this says something about Dalmasca’s importance to the Empire.

Riby: I didn’t understand a word of that speech, but I’ll get Old Dalan to explain it to me. There’s no one knows more than he does!

Rabanastran (man in tan and white): That new consul – he looks like some kind of general to me. Which means he was probably involved in the attack on Nalbina. Why would they send someone like him to rule us?

Rabanastran (woman in pink, yellow, and blue on bridge): I can never find my way to Lowtown when I need to. There should be a stairway around here somewhere…

Rabanastran (woman in green, pink, and brown): The guards are letting people into Lowtown again, but I still can’t find the stairs! My map shows a stairway over by the gambit shop, but I can’t make head nor tail of it.

Yamoora’s Gambits

Greenhorn: This is my first time in Yamoora’s. I was just getting an explanation about gambits from this kid here. It’s all about efficiency, he says.

Adept Adventurer: Did I watch the parade? Does a forest watch the ocean? Parades are nothing to one traveling the Way of the Gambit. Seek me out when the Way of the Gambit is open to you. I will lead you down its path.

Yamoora's Gambits

Greenhorn: This is my first time in Yamoora’s. I thought it was time I learned what all the fuss was about. Gotta say, I’m a bit nervous…

Lord Vain: Looks like you’ve wandered into the gambit shop by mistake, boy! A great tool for leading a party of adventurers, which I can’t help but see you lack. See, with a good set of gambits, you don’t have t’ shout out instructions left and right in a battle. First, you need a party, though. (snort)

Adept Adventurer: I walk the Way of the Gambit. Seek me out when the Way is open to you. I will lead you down its path.

Yamoora: Sorry, still gettin’ the shop in order. It’ll be a while yet, so you may want to try back later.
