Clan Centurio

North End

Conspicuous Bangaa: Ah, so you’ve got your Primer, so you have. Well? What’re you standin’ about out here for? In with ya! Can’t quite recall your face. Are you new? Might want to pay special heed to what the folks inside have to say. Well, are you goin’ in or not?
Okay, let me in.
[See “The Clan Hall” below.]
No, thanks.

The Clan Hall

Monid: What are you lookin’ at? This ain’t no place for children! Him? He’s an exception. His parents were both hunters. And they were friends of mine to boot. That is, until they set out on a hunt for this one most notorious mark… But I’ll avenge them, be sure of it! I’ve been keeping an ear to the ground, listening for any sign of that mark ever since. That’s what this place is all about. A deadly serious business, this, not to be taken lightly, you hear?

Monid (x2): You’ve got much and more to learn, and you can start with this: stay out of my way! I’d as soon kill you as look at you, so don’t be trying my patience.

Bansat: New member, are you? M’ name’s Bansat. I’m a hunter here in Clan Centurio. Pleased to meet ya.

Bansat (x2): Getting the feel for battle? You can never have too much practice.

Clan Member (moogle with green pom-pom watching practice fight): Are you new here, kupo? My advice for you: always be sure to check for the latest bills. Never know when a new one might be posted, kupo. No matter the notice board you check, the bills will be the same. So go to the nearest one, and you’re set, kupo!

Clan Member (woman in pink watching practice fight): So, Tomaj recommended you to the clan, did he? I bet he pretended he didn’t even know about the clan hall. If he had told you where it was, he’d be in trouble. Finding the clan hall is one of the tests to join the clan. Where you go from here is up to you.

Clan Member (man sitting on steps talking to woman): Hmph. You look like you barely know which end of the sword goes in the monster. Don’t do anything to hurt the Clan… or yourself.

Clan Member (green bangaa talking to red bangaa on balcony): What have we here? A newcomer, eh? Montblanc’s the founder of our clan, so be sure to show him the proper respect. Our job’s to travel about accepting hunts from the boards, gathering news about marks that need to be dealt with right away, elite marks, and the like.

Ma’kenroh: A new clan member? Hrgm… I am Ma’kenroh. A pleasure, I’m sure. Unlike our other members, I cannot participate in hunts. My specialty lies in the collection of information. If you have a question about one of your marks, ask. I will tell you what I know.

Ma’kenroh (x2): Hello. How does this day find you? Hunting the Rogue Tomato? Hrgm… Find it in the Dalmasca Estersand. Leave by the east gate, head to the northeast. Now, go. Oh, about your clan rank… When you’ve defeated 2 marks and accumulated 700 clan points, you will gain a rank. Now, go.

Krjn: Yes? What is it you need? I am Krjn, a hunter of Clan Centurio. To know my boundaries did I join the clan. It is a wellspring of information about powerful marks.

Krjn (x2): If you sense danger, be cautious. Flight, too, has its place in battle.

Montblanc: Kupo-po? Yours is a new face! Are you a hunter? Welcome to our clan hall! I’m Montblanc, founder of Clan Centurio. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, kupo! Our clan has a very strict entrance examination. We should begin yours at once… And, you pass. Moogles are quick to make up their minds, kupo.
[You are now a member of Clan Centurio!]
Here in the clan hall you’ll hear about especially dangerous marks you won’t find posted on any board, the moment they rear their ugly heads! Well, I’ll get on with filing the necessary clan membership certificates. I’ll be finished in no time flat, kupo! Kupo! I nearly forgot! Now that you’re a member, you can make purchases from our clan shop in the Muthru Bazaar. Be sure to stop by, kupo! Happy hunting!
Montblanc (x2): How fares the hunt, kupo? All your membership papers are in order, kupo. Allow me to give you this to commemorate your joining the guild! I’ll have a little something for you each time you attain a new clan rank, kupo.
[You obtain 3 potions!]
Keep up the splendid work, kupo!
Kupo-po? I’m sorry, but I don’t have any hunts to tell you about at the moment, kupo.
Montblanc (x3): How fares the hunt, kupo? Kupo-po? I’m sorry, but I don’t have any hunts to tell you about at the moment, kupo.

North End

Clan Watch (previously the Conspicuous Bangaa): Well, what do you think of the clan? A nice enough lot, if you ask me.

???: (This is a sign for Clan Centurio, but only clan members would know it as such.)

Muthru Bazaar

Clan Provisioner (previously the Mysterious Merchant): Heh, heh. Heard the boss gave you the okay. But it’s not that simple, lad. We’ve got strict rules you gotta abide by here. The things I can sell you depend on your clan rank. You want a crack at the good stuff, best raise your rank. I doubt you’ll be disappointed! Didn’t mean to talk yer ear off! Go on and take a look at what we have… for your rank, of course. [shop menu]

Clan Provisioner (x2): Step right up, lad! Let’s see, for your rank, our goods look something like this. Holler if you see something that takes your fancy. [shop menu]

Note: After the initial meeting, the dialogue in the Clan Hall changes depending not on story progression, but on your progression in hunts and clan ranking. The only way story affects what goes on in the Clan Hall is when Montblanc has rewards for boss battles only completed through progressing the story. Clan Hall dialogue and the Clan Primer will therefore be documented in a separate section from here on out.

North End

Rabanastran (woman in pink, red, and blue): I do hope the parade drums up some business. I’ve just come from the bazaar, but I can scarcely afford a thing.

Bungling Hunter: Listen, churl, you get into trouble, do it proper, like. Make a name for yourself. I want the bounty on your head to be worth the trouble! Har!

Conspicuous Bangaa: You want in? Out with it, then! Hah! You don’t even have one! You’ll no’ be getting’ in without, boy. Off with ya!

???: (You’re not sure what this sign is for.)

Imperial: Not now, boy, I’m on duty. Peddle your wares elsewhere, eh?

Rabanastran (blue seeq): They’re holding a banquet in the palace after the parade is over. Delicacies and delectables the likes of us’ll never taste, boy.

Rabanastran (man in green and brown shorts): They’re locking the city down tight. Which suits me fine. I’m happy to stay right here. Don’t believe me? Head down to the gates and see for yourself!

Traveler: Isn’t Rabanastre marvelous? Fascinating in ways wholly different from Archades. I’ve even taken to the local fashion!

Imperial (northwest): Don’t worry, lad. I know the watch has been a bit rough today, but things should get back to normal soon enough once the parade is over.

Imperial (northeast): We’re on heightened watch until the Consul’s inauguration ceremony is complete. Parts of the city are off limits for the duration.

Rabanastran (blue seeq): There are those who care little for the Empire. No doubt they are the reason behind the show of Imperial force today.

Dispirited Woman: I haven’t the slightest interest in the Imperial Parade. It will only remind me of the Princess’s wedding to Prince Rasler… I didn’t have the clearest view of them then, but I could tell how happy they were. If only things had turned out differently…

Imperial: No loitering! Can’t keep watch with the likes of you standing ‘round. We’re under strict orders to arrest suspicious characters, boy.

Rabanastran (brown bangaa in black and red pants): First the parade, then the fete. This consul must be an important man.

Riby: Can’t turn around without running into an Imperial today. Times like this, it’s best to just keep your head down and stay outta trouble.

Rabanastran (man in brown and tan): Oh, Vaan, it’s you. Even two years later, sometimes I look at you and see Reks.

Tough Knight: The most important thing in a fight? A level head on your shoulders. Beasts great and small roam abroad. Be sure you know which you face before charging into battle.

Yamoora’s Gambits (sign): “A mind without instruction can no more bear fruit than can a field without cultivation.”

Rabanastran (woman in white, yellow and blue): I was just out for a little stroll and these Imperials yell at me for no reason at all. Is such a heavy guard needed for the consul’s arrival?

Rabanastran (woman in green and pink): I hear there’s a resistance group planning something against the Imperials. But if you ask me, things aren’t so bad the way they are now.

Imperial: All traffic with Lowtown is suspended until the new consul reaches the palace.

Helpful Man: Such a grand city… Why, even the locals must need a map to find their way! Go ahead, look at your map. There’s no shame in it!
