[Vaan runs out onto a promenade overlooking the garden. Masses of Imperials are fighting what look to be an insurgent group below.
Vaan: What’s going on?
[Suddenly, an explosive ball of fire touches down nearby. We see a vaguely familiar young woman with sword in hand in the fray, looking up at the newly arrived, massive airship looming overhead. The man reappears behind Vaan, but he’s looking up at the airship, too.]
Man: The Ifrit, eh? Impeccable timing. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say they were waiting all along.
[Vaan glances at him, then bolts as the Ifrit continues firing on the battle below.]
Man: Stop running!
[As Vaan is being chased by the man, suddenly the viera appears on the hover bike in front of him, blocking his path.]
Man: End of the line! You have something that belongs to me.
[As they confront each other, Imperials run out on the promenade and spot them.]
Imperial: More this way!
Man: Fran! Let’s move!
[He begins running toward Vaan and the viera. He grabs Vaan as he is running and carries him to the edge of the promenade, where he pushes him.]
Man: Off with you!
[As, Vaan falls, the man jumps after him. For a moment they are obscured by the smoke of Ifrit’s fire. Then we see the man has landed on the back of the hover bike with the viera; he holds Vaan by the wrist, as he dangles precariously below them.]
Vaan: Let go of me!
Man: Keep this up and I will!
[The man notices the viera seems to be struggling with the bike.]
Man: What’s going on, Fran?
Viera: I don’t know, it’s not heeding me!
Man: I don’t have time for this.
Vaan: I – I’m slipping!
[They are obscured by smoke again as the hover bike appears to finally go down.]
