Southern Plaza

Rabanastran (tan bangaa talking with woman): That strange man that came through here – you know, the one with the scar on his forehead and that ratty beard? Wonder what became of him.
Rabanastran (kid squatting in front of wall): People still seem to think pretty well of Vayne. If things really start getting better, d’you think we should cut him some slack?
Imperial: Saw a squad of guards headin’ in through the south gate. Soaked to the skin, they were. Must be the Rains down in Giza.
Rabanastran (man in brown pants with his son in northern part): There was a great explosion in the west. Some are saying it was the Imperial fleet sinkin’ from the sky!
Rabanastran (kid in blue with his father in north part): Did you hear? Did you hear? My friend down in Lowtown saw a GHOST!
Lovestruck Man: Urrr… I can’t get her out of my head… Who? That viera, that’s who. She’s all I’ve ever dreamed of…
Cotze: The Empire dispatched a natural philosopher here to look into something or the other. He tried askin’ me some questions, but I won’t have any part in it. He’s probably still over at Westgate trying to figure out what to do next.
Rabanastran (kid on blue and green on south side of fountain): What? Vayne’s going back to Archadia? Shucks… and I never got to run into him even once.
Jinn: Hey, been a long time, huh? It’s me, Jinn, from Giza Plains. Remember? It’s the Rains now, so we’ve all left the village. Not a soul left there. I thought I saw some people coming up from Ozmone Plain when we was leavin’… I wonder if they know the village is empty?
Bright-eyed Boy: I heard there were some sick people at the village in the Estersand. They can’t even leave their homes. Wish I could do somethin’ to help…
Rabanastran (man in brown pants near eastgate): I wonder if there’s any truth to that rumor that Vayne’s going back to Archadia?
Rabanastran (boy in blue by southgate): All those roly-polies down in Giza Plains disappear when the Rains come. …The people? Yeah, they leave, too.
Rabanastran (man in brown pants by southgate): It’s the Rains down in Giza again. How can I tell? By the puddles the travelers leave.
Rabanstran (kid in blue by westgate): Hey, Vaan! Sure haven’t seen you around much lately. Off havin’ fun without the rest of us?
Rabanastran (man in brown pants by westgate): There’s a great sandstorm in the northern part of the Westersand. The winds are so strong you can’t even stand, much less walk. You can scarcely see for all the sand, but you can hear. There’s a terrible cry riding on that wind. Best to keep well away, if you ask me.

Southern Plaza

Rabanastran (kid in blue near westgate): Hey, Vaan. Have you seen Penelo lately? Sure seems like somethin’s botherin’ her. Whaddaya think it might be?
Rabanastran (man in brown shorts near southgate): From Southgate, it’s a straight run down to the nomad village on Giza Plains.
Rabanastran (kid in blue by southgate): I saw a real weird guy over in the East End. His beard and hair were all long and scruffy… Wonder what his story is?
Bright-eyed Boy: Someday I’m gonna be tough enough to go into the Estersand all by myself. Just you watch!
Rabanastran (man in brown shorts by eastgate): Capturing those insurgents so soon after his arrival… that new consul is a sharp man. If he can keep peace in the city, I’ll be happy.
Rabanastran (kid in blue and green on south side of fountain): If people are lookin’ to this new consul to make our city a better place, forget it! I have… other… expectations for our rich friend.
Rabanastran (black bangaa in red vest): May not be cheap, but takin’ an airship out of the aerodrome’s the easiest way to get from city to city. When they aren’t in dry dock for repairs…
Rabanastran/Cotze: The guards may be watchin’ us, but I’m watchin’ them. I don’t trust ‘em any further than I can throw ‘em.
Lovestruck Man: Did you see? Have you heard? Have you… touched? You really shouldn’t touch, you know. …Why, the viera, of course! Such style and grace… everything I’ve ever wanted in a woman! I wonder if she’s attached…
Rabanastran (man with his son on north side of fountain): No one hates the Empire more than the people in Lowtown. I can’t say that I blame them, but at the same time, the Empire’s not all bad, either.
Rabanastran (kid with his father on north side of fountain): Well of course they captured the thieves that tried for the palace. They’re thieves! They got what they deserved!
Imperial: That commotion with the thieves in the palace on the night of the Lord Consul’s fete shook people up a fair bit. All’s well now, though. The watch did for them, sure enough.
Rabanastran (kid squatting near wall in northeast corner): People seem to think pretty well of Vayne…. What I’d like to know is: why?
Rabanastran (tan bangaa speaking with woman): Hey, did you see that fellow who just passed this way? Had a beard, looked and smelled like he hadn’t had a bath in years? There was an unsavory bunch followin’ him… You think he’s all right? Not that I’m about to stick my nose where it don’t belong.

Southern Plaza

Rabanastran (tan bangaa speaking with woman): Glad the watch has finally let up. Was gettin’ so you couldn’t turn ‘round without your tail bumpin’ an Imperial. Er, better watch my tongue…

Rabanastran (boy squatting down and hugging his knees by the wall): There were too many guards at the parade… All those fat purses, and no chance to swipe ‘em! I feel like I was the one who was robbed!

Imperial: There were rumors about a group of insurgents plottin’ an attack, but we kept the peace good ‘n’ proper. The city gates, the stairs to Lowtown – you can come ‘n’ go as you like now.

Rabanastran (man in brown shorts with his son at north side of fountain): My boy and I just watched the parade… it’s all he’ll talk about now. We saw the wedding parade two years ago, but he was too young to remember.

Rabanastran (boy in blue with his father): That parade was the best thing I ever saw! I wanna be in a parade, too!

Lovestruck Man: I can’t believe the Consul is the Emperor’s son! Imagine, someone like that in Rabanastre… I hope he’s the right man to help the city move forward.

Cartographer’s Guild: Would you like to buy a map, kupo?

[Giza Plains - 30 gil

So long, kupo!
Rabanastran (black bangaa in red vest and pants): They’ve got the aerodrome at Westgate closed special for all the Imperials returnin’ to Archadia.

Rabanastran/Cotze: What are they doin’ holdin’ a parade? Nothing these Imperials do makes any sense to me…

Rabanastran (kid in blue on south side of fountain): That Vayne sure must be rich to throw a parade like that. I hope I, uh, “bump” into him on the street one of these days. Heh, heh.

Bright-eyed Boy: Chocobos are my favorite animal. Big, yellow… what’s not to like? I sure hope I get to ride one someday!

Rabanastran (man in brown shorts near eastgate): He was orphaned during the war, so I took him in. At first, he wouldn’t say a word. He’d just cry, and cry. But I think that’s finally behind him now. The orphans in this town are many. I only pray we never face such a war again.

Rabanastran (man in brown shorts near southgate): I’m glad that parade is over. We can finally come and go as we please again.

Rabanastran (boy in blue near southgate): You ever been to the village out on Giza Plains? It’s just a ways off to the south of here. They raise some kind of big ol’ roly-poly birds down there.

Rabanastran (boy in blue by westgate): Hey, Vaan, how’s it goin’? Not so good for me… It’s hard to “work” with all these guards around. Maybe we can make up for it at the fete tonight!

Rabanastran (man in brown shorts near westgate): If you’re headed out west, take care. The Westersand is not so forgiving as the Estersand. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of the creatures
lurking out there show up as marks. Keep your guard up, even near the city.
